The Southern California Arabic Teacher’s Council (SCATC) is a pilot project funded by Qatar Foundation International and hosted by the California World Language Project at Loyola Marymount University
Mission
The goal of the project is to support the teaching of Arabic in Southern California and to provide Arabic language educators from a variety of institutions K-16, private and public, full time and weekend school with a forum to Meet, network, share resources and ideas..
Statewide Conferences
SCATC hosts a FREE statewide conference every year. These conferences are a way for Arabic teachers to meet, explore and exchange ideas, develop new techniques and teaching materials for Arabic.
Cultural Events
SCATC organizes annual cultural events to allow the public to embrace Arab culture, language, and traditions.
Webinars
Throughout the year, SCATC hosts many webinars that offer professional development opportunities for Arabic language educators.These workshops are a way for Arabic teachers to meet online, explore and exchange ideas, develop new techniques and teaching materials for Arabic as a world language.
